โ ๏ธ Safety Checkpoints & Warnings
- โข Clear heavy contents from the drawer prior to removal to prevent dropping the box.
- โข Keep fingers clear of the pinch points along the slide rail edges and spring catches.
๐ Step-by-Step Guide (6 Steps)
Empty and fully extend the drawer
Pull the drawer straight out toward you until it reaches its maximum extension point. Remove all contents to reduce weight and prevent shifting during removal.
- โข Drawer box fully extended with empty interior visible.
- โข Undermount or side-mount slide hardware exposed beneath or beside the box.
- โข Leaving heavy items inside, causing the drawer to tip forward abruptly.
Disengage release clips and lift out drawer
Locate the plastic release levers on the underside or sides of the drawer box near the front corners. Squeeze or depress both clips simultaneously while pulling the drawer box upward and straight out of the cabinet.
- โข Drawer box completely separated from the cabinet carcass.
- โข Metal slide runners remaining extended inside or attached to cabinet frame.
- โข Yanking upward without engaging both release latches fully.
- โข Pulling unevenly, binding one side against the rail.
Inspect slides and clear debris
Shine a flashlight into both cabinet slide channels. Check for fallen debris, bent tabs, or foreign objects blocking the track, then wipe the tracks clean with a microfiber cloth.
- โข Brightly illuminated, clean metal slide channels free of dust and debris.
- โข Skipping track cleaning and trapping grit inside the damper mechanism.
Reset the spring-loaded damper pin
Locate the small plastic catch or pin inside the rear of the slide mechanism that connects to the soft-close piston. Use a flathead screwdriver to gently pull the catch forward toward the front of the cabinet until it locks into its primed, spring-loaded position.
- โข Damper catch sitting locked forward in the primed position on both left and right slides.
- โข Both slide catches visually matching in position and orientation.
- โข Applying excessive force and snapping the plastic catch.
- โข Resetting only one side when both tracks have soft-close units.
Realign and seat the drawer box
Extend both slide runners out halfway from the cabinet. Set the drawer box onto the slides, keeping it level, and push it inward until the rear hooks and front locking mechanisms engage with an audible click.
- โข Drawer box sitting squarely and evenly across both runners.
- โข Audible double click heard as front underside latches lock into the slides.
- โข Pushing the drawer in crooked, causing one track to miss the engagement hook.
Test travel and adjust alignment dials
Open and close the drawer 2 to 3 times to confirm smooth glide and auto-close damping. If the drawer rubs or sits unevenly, rotate the adjustment wheels on the underside clips to dial in height and side-to-side alignment.
- โข Drawer glides smoothly and pulls itself shut during the last 2 inches of travel without slamming.
- โข Uniform 1/8-inch reveals/gaps around all four sides of the drawer front.
- โข Leaving the drawer front tilted, causing the damper to bind prematurely.

Don’t have everything?
- No Dry silicone spray lubricant? Dry PTFE lubricant spray (avoid sticky WD-40 multi-use)
- No Small flathead screwdriver? Stiff putty knife or butter knife tip
