📋 Step-by-Step Guide (6 Steps)
Clean and Degrease the Existing Floor
Scrape away stuck-on debris and sweep or vacuum the room thoroughly. Scrub the existing floor with a degreasing cleaner to eliminate wax, oil, and dust that prevent adhesion. Let the surface dry completely before proceeding.

Establish Center Guidelines
Measure the length and width of the room to locate the exact center point. Snap two intersecting chalk lines perpendicular to each other to divide the room into four quadrants. Dry-lay a row of planks along both axes to ensure you do not end up with narrow slivers under two inches wide at the walls.

Apply Primer (If Subfloor is Porous)

Peel and Set Center Planks
Peel the protective backing off your first plank and align one edge precisely along the chalk line intersection. Press the plank down firmly from one end to the other to push out trapped air. Install adjacent full planks tightly against one another, checking that directional arrows on the backing all point the same way if using patterned tiles.

Score and Snap Edge Pieces
Place a loose plank directly on top of the last full plank laid, then place a third plank on top touching the wall to act as a cutting guide. Score the top surface of the middle plank along the guide edge using a sharp utility knife against your straight edge. Bend the plank along the score line until it snaps cleanly, peel backing, and install the cut edge facing the wall.

Roll the Floor and Finish Edges
Roll the entire floor using a hand roller or weighted floor roller, applying firm downward pressure over every seam and corner. Work in both directions across the room to activate the pressure-sensitive adhesive. Reinstall baseboards or quarter-round molding, nailing into the wall studs rather than through the new floor.
