📋 Step-by-Step Guide (6 Steps)
Set Up and Lock the Drywall Lift
Wheel the panel lift directly below the ceiling bay where the drywall will be installed. Lock all caster brakes to prevent the base from rolling. Lower the telescoping cradle to its lowest loading height and tilt the loading frame downward toward you until the support hooks catch the angled stop.

- • Cradle tilted at approximately 45 to 60 degrees with lower retaining hooks facing up.
- • Leaving caster wheels unlocked while loading, causing the lift to kick backward.
Load the Drywall Sheet onto the Cradle
Carry the drywall sheet with the finished (cream-colored) face pointing down toward the floor. Rest the bottom long edge of the panel into the bottom metal support hooks of the cradle. Center the panel horizontally across the frame so weight is balanced evenly across both outrigger arms.

Level the Cradle and Hoist Overhead
Pivot the tilted cradle upward until it locks into the completely horizontal ceiling position. Turn the cable winch clockwise to hoist the drywall panel upward. Crank smoothly until the panel is roughly 1 to 2 inches below the ceiling joists.

Align Seams and Press Tight to Joists
Unlock the base casters briefly to roll the lift into its final alignment, ensuring the short edge lands centered on a ceiling joist. Lock the wheels again. Crank the lift winch tight until the drywall panel presses flush against the joists without crushing the gypsum core.

- • Zero visible light or gap between the top surface of the drywall and joist bottoms.

Fasten Panel to Ceiling Joists
Drive 1-1/4 inch drywall screws into each joist crossing, spacing screws 12 inches apart across the field of the panel and 7 to 8 inches apart along butt edges. Start fastening from the center of the sheet and work outward toward the edges to eliminate trapped air pockets. Keep screws at least 3/8-inch in from all board edges.

Lower the Lift and Clear for Next Sheet
Confirm all perimeter and field screws are fully driven. Hold the winch crank firmly, disengage the ratchet safety catch, and crank counterclockwise to lower the lift arms smoothly away from the ceiling. Wheel the lift back to the staging area for the next board.
