📋 Step-by-Step Guide (5 Steps)
Prepare and Verify the Rough Opening
Measure the rough opening width and height against the pocket door kit specifications, typically twice the door width plus one inch. Check that the floor is level and side framing studs are plumb using a 4-foot level. Shim the base if the floor slopes downward across the pocket opening.

Install the Overhead Track and Header
Cut the track header wood insert to match door width if required by the manufacturer. Fasten the metal track assembly into the rough header brackets using supplied heavy-duty screws. Place your level directly inside the track channel to confirm it is dead level before final tightening.

Erect Split Studs and Floor Brackets
Attach the metal-wrapped split studs into the top header slots and anchor floor brackets to the subfloor. Plumb each split stud pair vertically with a spirit level before fastening to the floor plates. Ensure the spacing between split studs matches the manufacturer gauge so the pocket does not pinch.

Mount Hanger Hardware and Hang Door
