Prepare and Verify the Rough Opening
Measure the rough opening width and height against the pocket door kit specifications, typically twice the door width plus one inch. Check that the floor is level and side framing studs are plumb using a 4-foot level. Shim the base if the floor slopes downward across the pocket opening.
