โš ๏ธ Safety Checkpoints & Warnings

๐Ÿ“‹ Step-by-Step Guide (5 Steps)

1

Mark and Set Drill Depth

Position the bracket on the wall and mark hole centers using a pencil while checking level. Wrap a piece of masking tape around your masonry drill bit to mark the total length of the sleeve anchor plus 5mm.

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Camera AI Checkpoint
  • โ€ข Clear pencil crosshairs visible on solid brick face
  • โ€ข High-contrast tape flag wrapped neatly around drill bit shank
๐Ÿ›‘ Watch Out For
  • โ€ข Drilling into mortar joints instead of solid brick center
  • โ€ข Guessing drill depth without a tape marker
โš ๏ธ Safety Note: Check behind the marked area for buried water pipes and electrical cables.
2

Drill Anchor Holes

Set the drill to hammer mode and align the bit perpendicular at a 90-degree angle to the wall. Drill steadily at medium speed until the tape marker reaches the wall surface, keeping the drill completely straight.

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Camera AI Checkpoint
  • โ€ข Perpendicular cylindrical hole drilled exactly to tape depth
  • โ€ข Tape marker flush with wall surface
๐Ÿ›‘ Watch Out For
  • โ€ข Wobbling the drill, which enlarges the hole diameter
  • โ€ข Drilling at an upward or downward angle
โš ๏ธ Safety Note: Wear eye protection and a dust mask to guard against flying masonry chips and silica dust.
3

Clean Dust from Hole

Insert a wire tube brush into the hole and scrub back and forth to loosen clinging debris. Blow out the fine dust completely using a handheld air pump or compressed air nozzle.

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Camera AI Checkpoint
  • โ€ข Hole interior free of loose grey/red masonry dust
  • โ€ข Clean hole perimeter with no dust rim remaining
๐Ÿ›‘ Watch Out For
  • โ€ข Skipping hole cleaning, which prevents anchor expansion sleeve from gripping masonry
โš ๏ธ Safety Note: Look away or wear sealed goggles when blowing out dust to prevent debris entering eyes.
4

Insert the Wall Bolt

Align the fixture bracket over the drilled hole and push the assembled sleeve anchor through the bracket hole and into the wall. Tap the bolt head gently with a hammer until the washer sits flat against the bracket face.

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Camera AI Checkpoint
  • โ€ข Bolt threaded fully into masonry
  • โ€ข Washer sitting flush and square against bracket face
๐Ÿ›‘ Watch Out For
  • โ€ข Hitting the threaded bolt core directly without the nut attached, damaging threads
  • โ€ข Forcing bolt into an uncleaned or shallow hole
โš ๏ธ Safety Note: Use controlled light taps to avoid cracking surrounding brickwork.
5

Torque and Set Anchor

Engage the ratchet wrench on the nut or hex head and turn clockwise to tighten. As resistance builds, the cone pulls into the sleeve, expanding it tightly against the hole walls.

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Camera AI Checkpoint
  • โ€ข Nut tightened securely against washer
  • โ€ข No gap between bracket, washer, and wall face
๐Ÿ›‘ Watch Out For
  • โ€ข Over-tightening until the bolt snaps or crushes brick
  • โ€ข Under-tightening, leaving the sleeve unexpanded
โš ๏ธ Safety Note: Keep wrench square to the bolt head to prevent slipping and knuckle injury.
